Defender Jon Guthrie has committed his future to Crewe by penning a two-year contract extension.
The Alex's first-choice left-back, whose new deal runs to the summer of 2015 with the option of a further season, has played 17 games this term and has nailed down a regular spot in Steve Davis' side in recent weeks.
The 21-year-old moved to Gresty Road from non-league football in 2012 and told the Sky Bet League One club's official website: "I'm delighted. Now I can just fully focus on making sure we're still in this league next year, so I'm really happy with it and that it's done.
"It's nice to get it over and done with; it's just good that I can focus on my football. It's always good to get it sorted before the end of the season so I don't have to worry about it as much, I'm really pleased with it.
"There was no hesitancy at all to sign, this is the right club for me. They plucked me for non-league football so I owe it to them, and I love it here anyway so there would be no reason to leave."
Davis is keen to keep the young core of his team next season and has also voice his intention to offer fresh contracts to both Ollie Turton and Liam Nolan.
