Notts County manager Shaun Derry is on the lookout for a replacement for Kieron Freeman after the defender returned to Derby.
The Wales Under-21 international has made 17 appearances across two spells for County this term but has reached the maximum period of 93 days for an emergency loan and will play no further part.
The Magpies are rooted to the foot of Sky Bet League One and Derry is keen to boost his side's survival chances by adding to his squad.
"We need players and I've got my eye on players this week," he said.
"I'm hoping everyone's aware that we can only have five loans in the side so it was pointless bringing someone in ahead of the Rotherham game.
"Obviously Kieron's gone back to Derby and I'm looking for a replacement for him."
