Slade: We wanted it more

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade watched his side gain a 2-0 win against Swindon that took them back to the top of the table.

A depleted Swindon side suffering with suspensions and injuries were further weakened when Wes Foderingham pulled out in the warm-up with a tight hip and groin leaving Tyrell Belford to make his league debut. The 19-year-old pulled off a series of saves while also riding his luck on occasions that included a shot from Chris Dagnall that struck a post. It took two penalties converted by Lloyd James to beat him. The first came after 41 minutes after Moses Odubajo had been fouled and the second was conceded six minutes after the interval when David Mooney was felled. "We are probably only top given that we've played two more games than the teams around us," Slade said. "It was all about us putting in a performance and wanting it more than the opposition. "I felt that we were well worth the win and yes, it was important to get the three points. "Although we scored two penalties, we could have scored other goals from open play. "The important thing was that we created chances all afternoon and not only that, without the ball, I thought that we were excellent. "Chris Dagnall has hit the post and then he's headed the ball in, but the goal was ruled out for a foul although there's been hardly any contact with the defender. "We had a difficult period recently but we've come through that, shown our character and made it two back-to-back wins without conceding which is really encouraging. "There was some really good individual performances out there if I'm honest."
