Sheffield United have confirmed that they are looking at the loan market in order to ease their injury problems.
First team coach Andy Garner admitted that manager Nigel Clough has been speaking to a target, but wouldn't name who the player was.
Garner said: "The manager has been talking to someone, but there are always things to iron out so we'll see what happens.
"There are obviously people we are aware of and who we know."
Even though United sustained no new injuries following Saturday's victory over Shrewsbury Town in League 1, Garner also said that Stephen McGinn would be assessed this week because he was still "feeling sore."
The Blades are up against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup at the weekend.
