Carlisle United manager Graham Kavanagh is hoping to bring in a new central defender on loan.
Goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis, Aston Villa teenager Michael Drennan, plus Manchester United pair Sam Byrne and Charni Ekangamene have all recently joined the Cumbrians, but Kavanagh wants a replacement for Max Ehmer, who recently returned to parent club QPR.
"I would like to do more business," said Kavanagh, who hopes to end his search when the emergency loan transfer window reopens on Friday .
"We were trying to get a centre-half in, but we couldn't get the right one for the right money, so it was difficult.
"We'll have to go back to the drawing board in terms of recruitment. I think the players that we've moved on have allowed us to do more with the budget we have available."
