Cliff Byrne is set to leave Oldham this month and is hoping to fix himself up with a new club.
The experienced defender has been informed by Oldham boss Lee Johnson he is free to leave Boundary Park during this month's transfer window.
Byrne has just recently returned to Oldham after a loan spell at Scunthorpe where he made 11 appearances for the League One club.
The 31-year-old, who is currently taking his coaching badges, is keeping his options open as he looks to find a new club.
"I have been told that I can leave Oldham this month," Byrne told Sky Sports.
"The manager has been fair to me and I am now looking to find a new club.
"I will now wait and see what offers come my way and see what suits me best.
"I am doing my coaching badges at the minute and I do want to do go into coaching once I fnishing playing, but I still feel I have a lot to offer playing and could do a job for a club in League One or League Two."
