Rowett happy at Brewers

Burton boss Gary Rowett is flattered to be linked with the vacant job at Notts County but insists he is happy at Albion.

Rowett, in his first managerial post, has been touted as one of the leading contenders to succeed Chris Kiwomya who left Meadow Lane last weekend following 10 defeats in 13 Sky Bet League One matches. However, the former Derby and Leicester defender has played down the link with the Magpies. "It's really nice to have your name mentioned, it's a compliment, as it shows we are doing a good job here at Burton," Rowett told Press Association Sport. "But you just have to see it as a little bit of speculation. "I have a job here at Burton. We are going really well and I am enjoying working here." Notts County are searching for a ninth manager in the last four years. Steve Hodge took charge of the midweek win over Oldham and the development squad manager will remain in control of first-team affairs for the trip to Coventry on Saturday. Rowett was appointed Burton boss in May 2012 and led the club to the League Two play-offs last season where they were beaten by Bradford, who went on to clinch promotion in the final at Wembley.
