Bonham eying regular spot

Brentford youngster Jack Bonham is confident he can challenge goalkeeper Simon Moore for a first-team spot this season.

The 19-year-old joined the Bees from Watford this summer and came on for the injured Moore during last week's friendly against Millwall. Moore enjoyed a superb campaign last season as Brentford narrowly missed out on promotion and has been linked with a switch to a higher division. But Bonham insists he did not move to Griffin Park just to make up the numbers and hopes to earn a chance in Uwe Rosler's first XI. "Simon did great last year, he's a great keeper but I definitely feel like I can push him and hopefully if I'm doing well I'll get a chance," he said. "Obviously something could happen like it did against Millwall and I have to be ready."
