Oldham have taken former Leyton Orient striker Charlie MacDonald on trial, Sky Sports understands.
MacDonald is a free agent after seeing out his contract at Orient at the end of last season.
The 32-year-old has been invited to link up with Lee Johnson's side for pre-season training so that the Oldham manager can cast an eye over him.
Johnson is in the market for striking reinforcements after seeing Matt Smith and Chris Iwelumo both leave Boundary Park this summer.
A number of other clubs are thought to be keeping tabs on MacDonald, but if he impresses during his stay at Oldham he could earn a deal at Boundary Park.
