Crawley manager Richie Barker has penned a new two-year contract with the League One club.

Barker, 37, was appointed on a two-year agreement last August after Town agreed compensation with Bury.

He led the West Sussex outfit to a 10th-placed finish this term, six points off the play-off places, in their first season in England's third tier.

Assistant Taff Williams has also agreed a new two-year deal, and Barker told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have signed my new contract and committed myself to the club for the next two years.

"This is a club moving in the right direction. There is still a lot of work to do but I have a very committed backroom staff and playing squad and we are already preparing for the challenge of League One next season.

"Off the field, a lot is going on to make this football club one that can sustain itself at this level and hopefully push on to the Championship.

"We have seen with Yeovil's promotion that smaller clubs can be successful and everyone at Crawley Town is looking forward to embracing the exciting challenges which lie ahead."
