Moore rues lack of squad depth

Ronnie Moore believes Tranmere's slide down the League One table is little surprise given the meagre resources at the club.

A final-day goalless draw against promoted Bournemouth ended a run of five successive defeats that marked a difficult end to the season for a Rovers side who finished 11th having been firmly in the promotion battle for a long period. Moore said: "The last eight weeks have been a nightmare. We have been running on empty and that is what happens when you don't have the strength in depth. "We need to build for next season and there is no doubt we will have a busy summer. "We have to find a player who can have the impact that Jake Cassidy had for us when he was on loan here during the first half of the season. "We will look to come back stronger next season, but looking at the Bournemouth fans celebrating I wish that could have been us. I think we put in a good hard workmanlike performance and I am glad we have stopped our run of defeats. "To get 67 points is fantastic for us, really. The vast majority of supporters probably would have taken that at the start of the season."
