Wilson: A massive three points

Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson feels their win over Tranmere can provide the impetus his side need for a decisive run-in.

Ash Taylor's own goal just before the break was the difference between the sides, which saw the Blades leapfrog their hosts and remain hot on the heels of the automatic promotion places. And with games in hand on the other contenders, Wilson insists Easter Monday's clash at home to Carlisle takes on greater significance. "In the grand scheme of things, it's a massive three points," he said. "Away from home and against one of your nearest rivals, you want to get a big result and that certainly was, as was the performance. "Throughout the game we were in control, even in the first half. We played the game at the tempo we wanted to play and we didn't allow them to get a head of steam up. We wanted a classic game of away football and that's what we've done. "When you win a game you find a bit more energy over the next few days and hopefully, going into Monday's game, we'll find a bit more pace we wouldn't have if we didn't win. "It's a huge result for us as it was important to stay on the shirt tails of the teams around us, and we've done that."
