Ronnie Moore is glad to see the back of February as Tranmere look to get their promotion bid back on track.

Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Yeovil dropped Rovers to sixth in the League One table, having held an automatic promotion place for the majority of the season.

The loss at Huish Park was a far from ideal way to start March following a month that brought one win from six matches and a run of four consecutive defeats.

"It's been an awful month, honest to God, there's been no doubt about that," Moore said.

"If you look at the games that we've had, we've had three home games in there and not won them.

"That's been the disappointing thing for us because the home form's been really good.

"Away from home we're as good as anybody in this division, I think we've won nine away.

"But when you're playing Carlisle and home and Shrewsbury at home and you go down to 10 men in both those games it doesn't help you. Everything that could go against us has gone againsts us to be fair.

"After going to Colchester and getting the 5-1 win, a great result for us, and then drawing with Notts County I expected more from us at Yeovil because it was such a crucial game.

"If we'd won the game on Saturday we'd be five points clear of them instead of one behind them."
