Swindon striker Paul Benson has confirmed Cheltenham have made an approach to sign him on loan with a view to a permanent move.

The 33-year-old has returned to the County Ground after his loan spell with Portsmouth ended and the former Dagenham man has revealed he could be off to Whaddon Road. "I think Cheltenham have an offer on the table at the moment - a loan with a view to a permanent in the summer - and Swindon are quite keen for me to do that," he told the Gloucester Citizen. "I'll see how the land lies at Swindon and how it goes from there." Benson made his name during a five-year stay with the Daggers before moving to Charlton. After 11 goals in 33 starts at The Valley, he moved to Swindon 12 months ago and helped Paolo Di Canio's men to promotion from the fourth tier.
