Crewe boss impressed by Inman

Steve Davis believes Crewe will reap the benefits as Bradden Inman continues his football education at Gresty Road.

Newcastle youngster Inman joined Alex on loan last month and the 21-year-old Australian midfielder scored his second goal in as many League One starts to sink Bury 1-0 at the weekend. "He's done brilliantly, I have to say," said Davis. "He's always smiling - he's a bit like Max (Clayton) in that respect - he's always smiling and happy around the place, looking forward to training and games. "We didn't know what to expect at first. He came with high hopes and the people at Newcastle rate him very, very highly. "He's got a great goalscoring record so it was a matter of how we were going to play him. "At the moment I felt playing in a (midfield) three was going to be better for him so he's got a little bit of cover around him and I think he's grown into the games. "When he starts he's been maybe caught out a little bit with the pace of the games but as the games have gone on he's got better. "He gets himself into the game after 15 minutes and you can see what he's got. He's very, very good running forward with the ball and without the ball, he's got some pace, can get in behind people and he's started to do his defending. "And it looks like when he gets in behind people he can score a goal. Up to now he's shown some real promise and hopefully he can keep improving."
