Walker misses festive fixtures

Scunthorpe boss Brian Laws has confirmed ankle injury victim Josh Walker won't return until the new year.

The midfielder, who hasn't played since suffering ligament damage in the Iron's defeat at Doncaster last month, is expected to miss a further four weeks. Laws told the club's official website: "Josh Walker has been on crutches but isn't now. It's a case of rest and recovery for him. We know he will be at least three to four weeks. "With Josh, the terminology is that he's cracked a bone, but it's a slight tear of the tendon away from the bone. "The fact there is no surgery and it will settle down itself is a positive. He will only be out for three or four weeks maximum. "His standing foot gave way on him and he went over on his ankle. There was nothing you could do really. It's nothing to do with the surface, or whether we're indoors or outdoors. It's just one of those things that happens."
