Crawley defender Mark Connolly is relishing the opportunity to play regular football for the first time in his career.

The 20-year-old, who joined Town as a free agent from Bolton in the summer, has forced his way into Richie Barker's plans after an injury to Claude Davis.

"That is one of the biggest things for me - regular football," Connolly told Crawley News. "I spoke to the gaffer and I said I just want to nail down a place wherever I'm playing and I'll give you 100 per cent. I've just got to wait for my time.

"When I'm sitting on the bench obviously you're annoyed you aren't playing, but as long as the lads on the pitch are doing their job you're happy.

"I've always been a centre-half since I was at Wolves when I was younger and when I joined Bolton, but as I said to the manager, and as I said to Sean O'Driscoll before him, I'll play where you want me to play.

"If you want to throw me up front, I'll play up front, as long as I'm in the team. I had to wait to get back into the team but hopefully I did myself no harm."
