Midfielder Liam Palmer admits he is "gutted" Tranmere were unable to hold on to three points at Stevenage on Saturday.
Ronnie Moore's side were seconds away from recording a 1-0 win against their promotion rivals, before Greg Tansey fired a last-gasp equaliser for the hosts.
Palmer, on loan from Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, has been an ever-present for the table-toppers this season and believes they were hard done by on Saturday.
He told the club's official website: "I think we definitely deserved to win, over the course of the 90 minutes we were the better side.
"When you concede with 20 seconds left it's always disappointing, especially when we've played as well as we did. So I'm gutted.
"We were unlucky not to get the three points. That's just the way it happens sometimes."
