Carlisle manager Greg Abbott believes his side's 3-1 victory at Yeovil has gone some way to proving his doubters wrong.

A brace from towering teenager Mark Beck and a Joe Garner header handed the Cumbrians their first victory in six league games and ended a run of three consecutive defeats.

Abbott praised his side and, after the six-hour trip to Somerset, believes the point shows he has the full backing of the dressing room.

He said: "It's been a tough week but credit to the players who produced a really good, determined and honest performance. I told the players to make sure we didn't go home with nothing and give the snipers a chance to get everyone talking.

"We've produced some nonsense performances at home and some people have maybe seen the worst of us. On our travels we've been alright and have probably got an away record up there with any side in the league.

"The dressing room is fantastic and I hope people believe me. I will tell you when the dressing room isn't right and it will be a time for things to change. Sometimes we underperform but it's nothing to do with the state of our heads or mindset. We've had an awful run of injuries and bad luck, sometimes we haven't played as well as we have needed to - but here we certainly did."
