Notts County boss Keith Curle says Jamal Campbell-Ryce didn't intend to hurt Preston's Scott Laird after the sides' 0-0 draw.
County substitute Campbell-Ryce saw red in the dying stages of a drab goalless draw after a tackle that led to Laird being taken away in an ambulance. "There was a massive furore and obviously we hope the lad's OK but I don't think there was any intended malice," said Curle, after County had made it 19 away games unbeaten. "He didn't go for it to be a career-ending tackle. If you have a look at it in slow motion, the lad's gone to cross the ball and kicked Jamal's leg. "It was right in front of their supporters, the referee's made his decision and we have to abide by that. "It wasn't going to be a pretty spectacle because of the way they play their football so we had to be brave and earn the right to play."
