Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe admitted his side's 1-1 draw at home to Stevenage on Tuesday evening felt like a defeat.
Matt Tubbs came off the bench to salvage Howe's unbeaten record since returning to Dean Court from Burnley by cancelling out Greg Tansey's first-half opener.
Bournemouth should have been celebrating a sixth successive home victory after squandering a host of chances to snatch all three points.
Howe said: "It was a frustrating night but there was a lot of pride with the way we played after conceding a goal midway through the first half.
"We should have comfortably won the game but it was one of those nights when it was never going to drop for us. Their goalkeeper had a great night.
"It is frustrating our winning run has come to an end but obviously you cannot win every game. It almost feels like a defeat but it was another step forward because it was another step forward."
