Vital win has Bennett purring

On-loan defender Julian Bennett praised Shrewsbury's team spirit as Town recovered from a run of five defeats in six matches.

The crucial 1-0 victory over Crewe, combined with results elsewhere, saw the Shrews leapfrog the relegation zone and Bennett believes that could be the catalyst to boost confidence within the club. "If we can win our home games, that's always a good platform to work off," Bennett told the club's official website. "I think if we can continue that and then start improving away from home then I think we should be ok. "Since I've been here the boys have been quality. Obviously when things aren't going too well, that's the time when you need to stick together and over the past few games I think we have done that. "Everyone has stuck together, fans, players, coaching staff, and that's what you need. "It's a fantastic lift to get out of the relegation zone. Obviously you don't want to be in that bottom part of the table, but it we just keep focusing from now to the end of the season, keep working on our strengths and improving our weaknesses by sticking together, then I think we can get the results we need."
