Oldham captain Dean Furman insists that speculation regarding his future over the summer was wide of the mark.
The South African international has made over 100 appearances for the Latics since joining on a free transfer from Rangers in 2009.
The 24-year-old earned the attention of several Championship outfits over the summer when his contract at Boundary Park was set to expire.
However, the Lancashire-based side exercised an option in his contract to prolong his stay for another 12 months and the midfielder says he had no intention of leaving the League One club.
He told Sky Sports: "As far as I am aware there was no genuine interest from elsewhere because last season was a difficult one for me with injuries.
"I wasn't looking for anything elsewhere though because all I was concentrating on was getting back fit and playing for Oldham again,
"I prefer to let my football do the talking rather than other people, so hopefully I can do that this season rather than struggle in the treatment room."
