Scunthorpe manager Brian Laws hailed a "great display" after his side came from behind to win 2-1 at Coventry.

The Iron started well following an impressive 4-1 win at Walsall in midweek but fell behind against the run of play when Carl Baker fired in a free-kick after 35 minutes.

Leon Clarke converted what Sky Blues boss Mark Robins described as a "harsh" penalty to level seven minutes later before the striker added a second with a cool finish 15 minutes from time.

Steve Mildenhall then produced two fantastic saves in six minutes of stoppage time to prevent Baker and Roy O'Donovan.

Laws was delighted with the win and felt it could have been more but for the referee, who disallowed another Clarke goal before the break.

"It's another step forward," said Laws. "We have scored another couple of goals, good goals and had another one disallowed, which shouldn't have been. It was a great display. A great display of organisation on the park and discipline, that's what has been missing."
