MK Dons boss Karl Robinson has defended Alan Knill as Scunthorpe fans called for his head after a fifth home defeat this season.
Robinson's own side ended a run of five games without a win thanks to two first-half goals from Luke Chadwick and a third after the interval from Alan Smith.
"I don't like to hear fans calling for a manager's head," said Robinson. "We have been through difficult times ourselves. I know Alan Knill and his assistant Chris Brass very, very well. They are good men and will turn things around at Scunthorpe.
"When our own fans joined in with the chants against Knill, I put my hands up to stop them - and they did, which is great credit to them."
Robinson added: "Scunthorpe is always a difficult place to come and we have the bruises to show how much they wanted to win this one.
"I know Scunthorpe are going through a difficult spell, but we came here with the utmost respect for them. It was a very, very professional performance from us. This has been a good day for us and I am delighted."
