Carl Baker is hoping a dressing room debate after Tuesday's abject 2-1 defeat at Brentford will pave the way for improvement.

The Sky Blues started to turn around their fortunes under boss Mark Robins as they went five matches unbeaten but back-to-back defeats in the space of four days have halted their progress.

Midfielder Baker, who has his eyes on the captain's armband on a full-time basis, has revealed City's players aired their thoughts post-Brentford and is sure it will have the right effect.

"Everyone always has their say (after a game like Tuesday's), obviously people are going to disagree and fall out, but I don't think that's a bad thing, everyone's entitled to their opinion," Baker said.

"Obviously something's going wrong so we have to discuss it and put our finger on what we think it is. In the changing room the other day we had a good discussion and a good chat about what was going wrong and a few people got things off their chest.

"That's only a good thing because there's no point bottling it up, you need to say what you feel and sort the problems out. It's going to help if we do that."
