Doncaster have signed former Newcastle and Portsmouth full-back Andy Griffin on non-contract terms, the club have confirmed.

The 33-year-old defender, who has been a free agent since he was released by Premier League side Reading in May, is available for Tuesday's League One clash with Tranmere. Griffin began his career at Stoke in 1996, going on to play in the top flight with Newcastle, Portsmouth and Derby before returning to the Potters in 2008. Meanwhile, Rovers manager Dean Saunders will make a decision on the future of trialist Sammy Clingan this week.
