Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore said the performance of the referee in the second half resulted in the 3-1 loss at Bournemouth in League One.
Bournemouth turned in a strong second-half performance to triumph in Eddie Howe's first game back in charge of the south-coast club.
Three second-half goals, the first an own goal by Ben Gibson, plus Harry Arter and Simon Francis toppled the Moore's leaders after Jake Jervis had given them a first-half lead at Dean Court on Saturday.
Moore said: "For me the second half was all about one man, some of those decisions were astounding.
"The Bournemouth full-back was like an assassin, I mean how many challenges were missed.
"I can't fault the effort, but we need some help from the people that should be making the right decisions."
