Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade praised the quality of his side's display in the 1-0 win over Hartlepool at Brisbane Road.
Ryan Brunt, on loan from Stoke, netted his third goal of the season to give the O's the points, although the scoreline was hardly a reflection of a one-sided game.
Slade said: "I thought it as an excellent performance, particularly in the first half.
"I'm really proud of my team and they gave me a wonderful response after their disappointing show at Bournemouth on Saturday. The only thing missing was three or four more goals that, to be quite honest, we deserved.
"But we got the goal that mattered and all credit to Ryan Brunt because he's had his little niggles this season but when he's out there, he's still a threat in the box as he showed."
