Walsall manager Dean Smith could hardly believe his side drew a blank in front of goal as they went down 1-0 at Shrewsbury.
Shrews keeper Chris Weale was in inspired form while at the other end Paul Parry's first-half strike sealed the points for the hosts.
"The only thing missing was we didn't score the goals from the chances we created and that's the only reason we lost the game," said Smith.
"I'm disappointed with the result but I'm pleased it was on television so people saw what we are trying to do and how we can play.
"Their keeper has pulled off some fantastic saves. It was just one of those games but on another day we'll score four or five."
