Barker happy to ruffle feathers

Crawley boss Richie Barker backed his side to continue humbling League One's big guns after beating Preston 2-1 at Deepdale.

The Lilywhites were unbeaten in five league and cup games but had no answer to Alexander. The 33-year-old striker headed Crawley in front in the 54th minute before crashing a superb shot past Thorsten Stuckmann four minutes later to seal the win despite Paul Huntington's late effort. And after watching his side make it one defeat in six league and cup games, Barker insisted his side were not just there to make up the numbers. "We've lost one in six, and that one was having been down to nine men. We had to erase that from our memory and move on. We're getting some major scalps at some major stadiums," said Barker. "I know people probably won't like newly-promoted little Crawley Town coming to big Preston, who are expected to go up, and winning the game having been the better side."
