Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore is expecting to agree an extension to keep on-loan Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson until January.
Gibson has made eight appearances in all competitions for Tranmere since joining last month and talks have been held about the 19-year-old staying at Prenton Park.
Moore believes Boro have agreed to let Gibson remain with the League One club and he anticipates the paperwork will be finalised in a few days.
"That will all be sorted next week and we'll extend it until January 2nd," Moore told the club's official website after Saturday's 0-0 draw at Crewe.
"We've agreed everything with Middlesbrough and I thank Tony [Mowbray, Middlesbrough manager] for helping us with it."
Gibson added: "The lads and coaching staff have all been brilliant and the people behind the scenes have been fantastic. I've loved every minute of it.
"It looks like it's pretty much all sorted so it just needs to be signed. I think all parties are happy with what's happened so far."
