Hartlepool skipper Sam Collins has been lifted by the buoyant mood in the camp as the new season approaches.
Pools recorded a 2-2 draw with north east neighbours Middlesbrough on Tuesday night in their latest warm-up match, with Collins on the scoresheet with a bullet header.
And Collins says the players have really bought in to the ideas being put across by boss Neale Cooper.
"We've done well in the last two friendly games," Collins told the club's official website. "Middlesbrough was a very different test but I thought we came through it strongly.
"We've enjoyed it since we've been back in training, we've brought three good players in who have settled in extremely quickly and at the moment things are progressing really well."
