Rovers display delights Moore

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore was pleased with his team's performance in their 3-0 defeat of non-league Cammell Laird.

A Max Power brace and a goal from Jean-Louis Akpa, all in the second half, eased Rovers past the Evo-Stik Northern Premier club. "That will blow the cobwebs off," Moore said following the game on Tuesday night. "In the first half we were a little bit slow in getting onto the front foot. In the second half we told the midfield players to be more positive and I think we did that. "But I have to say it was a good workout. The movement was good and our lads kept trying to play and do the right things." Moore also confirmed that trialists Andros Franca and Jay Mehmet, who both featured in the friendly win, had not been asked to stay on at the club.
