Rochdale's efforts to sign Bobby Grant from Scunthorpe look set to be thwarted as boss Alan Knill aims to keep the striker at Glanford Park.

Knill has insisted the 21-year-old will not be leaving the League One club, despite reports this week linking John Coleman, his former manager at Accrington, with an interest in the player.

"There was an offer for Bobby, but it was way short of our valuation of him. Besides that, Bobby is not and was not for sale," Knill told Scunthorpe's official website.

Grant scored seven goals in 29 League One appearances for Scunthorpe last season.
