Cooper mulls over Groves offer

Bournemouth boss Paul Groves is desperate to hang on to Shaun Cooper as he awaits the player's response to a new contract offer.

The 28-year-old utility man is officially a free agent at the end of the week and an agreement has yet to be reached. But Groves is hoping Cooper will put pen to paper, a player he believes is a talented and versatile performer. "People recognise he can see a pass and play a pass. He is an intelligent lad and he conducts himself very well so he has got lots of good qualities," Groves told the Daily Echo. "I think one of Shaun's strengths is his ability to be able to play in different positions and that is probably down to his intelligence as a footballer. "We have made an offer and Shaun is deliberating over it and he will speak to us in due course when he is ready. Like anything, both parties have to agree to that contract and that is where we are at this moment in time."
