Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore hopes to make the most of home advantage on the opening day of the League One season.

Monday's fixture announcement handed Rovers a Prenton Park kick-off against Leyton Orient on August 18.

A 2-0 win in the corresponding fixture last term gave Moore the first win of his third spell in charge of the Merseyside outfit, and he will be hoping for a similar outcome this time around with away trips to Carlisle and Shrewsbury coming immediately afterwards.

"We've got two difficult away games the week after the Orient game so we'll want to go into them full of confidence," he told Tranmere's official website.

"Every manager can look at some months and think they look easier or more difficult than others, but that might change once the season begins.

"We've just got to make sure we don't look too far ahead, get through pre-season and start off the season as well as possible."
