Benson bent on strong start

Striker Paul Benson is confident Swindon can finish the opening month of the season with maximum points.

The Robins, promoted back to League One at the first attempt as champions, travel to Hartlepool on the opening day of the 2012/13 campaign before back-to-back home matches against Crawley and MK Dons brings August to a close. "It's a long journey (to Hartlepool) but it's one we will look forward to," Benson told the club's official website. "I would have liked to have started at home but we will try and hit the ground running with a result up there. Victoria Park is a tough place to go in the winter months so hopefully the sun will be shining for us in August, which might help. "Crawley came up with us into League One. Hopefully we will have similar results against them that we did last season. I think they will play more football this year as they were pretty direct last season. "Hopefully we can start the first month well and come away with nine points, there's no reason why we can't."
