The midfielder is aiming to ensure the Sky Blues' stay in League One is a brief one next term and hopes to provide plenty of cheer for the club's long-suffering supporters.
"I always look forward to the new season because there is no better feeling than the start of a new season," Baker told City's official website.
"But I have got a bit of a bee in my bonnet after the relegation as we need to prove ourselves more so after last season so we can get Coventry back up to where they belong.
"I've got a good feeling about this year. We should do much better away from home than we did last year because otherwise it would be embarrassing."
