Barker says players have a chance to earn new contracts

Bury manager Richie Barker says new contracts are up for grabs during the final weeks of the League One season. Mark Carrington, Patrick Cregg and Andrai Jones are all out of contract at Gigg Lane in the summer and have yet to be offered new deals. However, Barker has challenged the trio to prove in the closing seven games of the campaign that they deserve to stay with the club. "I've tried to reiterate to the players that if they come in and give their best and do well, they will keep their place," said Barker in the Bury Times. "There are one or two of them with a few things to play for. "Patrick, Andrai and Mark are all out of contract in the summer, so they've now got a seven-match mini season in which they can earn something out of the game."
