MacLean and Burgess offered incentive of permanent contracts

Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates has offered recent loan signings Steven MacLean and Ben Burgess the incentive of earning permanent contracts. MacLean joined Cheltenham from Yeovil Town last week, while Burgess also dropped down from League One after moving from Notts County. Both strikers started the Robins' 0-0 draw with Oxford United last weekend which ended a run of four straight defeats for Yates' side. Yates has been pleased by the initial impact of the duo and admits there is a chance for the pair to secure a more permanent stay at Whaddon Road. "They are playing for the next seven games and we'll see where we are after that and beyond," said Yates in the Gloucestershire Echo. "Of course permanent contracts have been discussed because we are always looking at players and we think we have two good ones here. "It remains to be seen how long they stay, but they have fitted in well within the group and they can be pleased with their performances against Oxford."
