Walsall midfielder Richard Taundry has expressed relief that his hamstring injury is not as bad as first feared.

Taundry, who has nailed down the right-back slot in recent weeks, was forced off in last Tuesday's victory over Sheffield United and duly missed the subsequent goalless draw against Hartlepool.

But Taundry has been boosted by the news he is only looking at around a fortnight on the sidelines and the 23-year-old, despite being absent for the forthcoming fixtures against Yeovil and Sheffield Wednesday, is targeting next Saturday's home clash against Stevenage for his comeback.

"I'm starting to get a bit more movement now," he told the club's official website.

"Hopefully within the next week I'll be training and working on my match fitness. I know the longer I stay out the harder it will be to get back into the squad but hopefully I'll be back for Stevenage a week on Saturday.

"It's very frustrating but I'm just glad it's not as bad as I first thought."
