Scott Parker's first appearance as England captain was a proud day for Bournemouth's Harry Arter.
The Cherries midfielder was delighted to see brother-in-law Parker, who is married to Arter's sister Carly, given the chance to lead his country against Holland in the 3-2 friendly defeat at Wembley last week.
And while the result may not have gone the way the family or the nation might have liked, 22-year-old Arter could not have been happier to see the Spurs man rewarded for his enduring professionalism.
"It was a proud day for the family," he said. "He's been with my sister for 15 years and he's like a brother to me.
"Seeing him get to where he is now is great. He's such a good player and a good man.
"He fully deserved it with how he has gone about his career."
