Midfielder Shaun MacDonald believes misfortune was to blame for Bournemouth's poor home record early on in the season.
The 23-year-old was sidelined through injury as the Cherries lost five of their first seven League One matches at Dean Court in August and September.
Since then Bournemouth have bucked that trend, however, and the Dorset club are now within touching distance of the play-off places.
Looking back on their miserable start to the term, MacDonald insists the poor run was down to luck, or more accurately a lack of it, more than anything else.
"We were out of luck. We created so many chances and we were always the better team but things weren't going our way," he said.
"Other teams would come here and they'd have three shots and score twice and sometimes that's how things go, but now we've changed that. We stayed positive and it's started to turn and now we want to keep on winning games as often as we can."
