New boss Graham Westley is delighted with Preston's defensive display after they secured an point with a 0-0 draw at Notts County.

In a League One game short on entertainment at Meadow Lane on Tuesday night, County had the better of what few chances there were, with Alan Sheehan, Ben Burgess and Lee Hughes going close in the second half. But the visitors held on, leaving Westley beaming. "It was a solid and professional away performance. It was a good step and we've been working hard on our defensive play. Fair play to the lads for the discipline they showed," he said. "If you're a defender, your first priority is to keep a clean sheet and if you've done that, you've done your job. "But I don't want to single out individuals on the night because it was a team performance. They were all at it, keeping their shape and working hard. There's not a player in there who didn't put a shift in."
