Cherries eye revenge at Bees

Striker Steve Fletcher says Bournemouth are itching to get revenge over Brentford when they face-off at Griffin Park on Boxing Day.

Fletcher insists the memories of the Cherries' Johnstone's Paint Trophy humiliation against the Bees is all the incentive he and his team-mates need to get a positive result when the two sides clash again. Brentford humbled their south coast visitors 6-0 in an area quarter-final tie back in November, and Fletcher admitted the heavy defeat was hard to take. But with Bournemouth now targeting the League One play-offs, the forward knows his side have to claim something from their trip to west London - and he is confident they will get revenge for that hammering on Monday. "We will be motivated to go there and not let it happen again," he told the club's official website. "It does happen on the odd occasion in your career, and it's how you react to it. "I don't think it will be mentioned too much but, for those boys that played, it will be on their minds and they will want to put it right. "Hopefully we will because we've been fantastic on our travels all season."
