Young winger Elliott Frear is confident Exeter have it in them to fight away from danger in League One.
The Grecians currently lie 18th in the table, just three points off the drop zone, but have lost just one of their last eight league outings.
That has led Frear, who has made six appearances this term, to say the Devon outfit have the character and ability to surge up the standings - they just need a little bit of help from Lady Luck.
"Everyone at the club knows we are good enough to be midtable at least," he told the Express & Echo. "We just need a few things to fall for us.
"(Decisions) go against you when you are down at the bottom, but hopefully we can push up the table. We have some good fixtures in the coming weeks, so hopefully we can pick up some points.
"In every league in England it seems that, when you are down at the bottom, every ricochet goes against you, every decision goes against you. You have to start off playing well, I think."
