Scunthorpe midfielder Michael O'Connor has demanded nothing less than successive home wins on Boxing Day and New Year's Eve.
The Iron, without a win in their last seven matches, stopped a run of four straight league defeats with a goalless draw at Exeter on Saturday, but are just one point above the relegation zone at the season's halfway point with their play-off hopes seemingly in tatters.
O'Connor told the club's official website: "We need a couple of results and with Bury and Chesterfield both at home these are really winnable games for us.
"The last few weeks that we've lost the spirit has still been there and we showed that we're all still together and working for each other.
"It's a mess we have to get out of though. We're only a point off the relegation zone and I thought we could reach the top six before the start of the season.
"We've played well in a lot of matches, but haven't got the rub of the green."
