Allen worry over Pearce injury

Notts County boss Martin Allen admits defender Krystian Pearce could be set for a lengthy spell out with a groin injury.

Pearce, 21, had been playing despite the problem for a handful of weeks before finally succumbing and missing the visit of Leyton Orient on Saturday. "It could be long term," said Magpies manager Martin Allen following the 2-1 defeat to Orient. "He has a groin problem. He has had a sore groin for weeks now and it has slowly been getting worse." A groin problem also saw Gavin Mahon forced off after just 17 minutes at the weekend and the midfielder will be assessed ahead of the trip to Sheffield United on December 27.
