Captain Gareth Ainsworth could be back in Wycombe's side for the clash with Chesterfield at Adams Park next weekend.
The veteran midfielder missed the whole of November after breaking his hand during the home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at the end of October.
Manager Gary Waddock insists the 38-year-old's fitness levels have not dropped during his spell on the sidelines and he should be in the frame to return when Wycombe, who are without a match this weekend due to their exit from the FA Cup, resume action against the Spireites on December 10.
"He has trained with the cast on. He has it off on Wednesday, so we will see how he is for next week," Waddock told the Bucks Free Press.
"His fitness has been fine. He has trained so there is no reason why he won't be [in contention]."
